Card College volume 2 is an extremely detailed book It's for the beginner that has absolutely no base in handling cards, however it's a great refference even for those that have read the classic Royal Road To Card Magic, which for the longest time was considered the only book beginners should start with. Because of Card College's attention to detail, it takes the second volume as well to get a good base in card magic. That is why some people chose to go with Royal Road To Card Magic instead of CC 1 and 2. I say read both!
Royal Road has some really really great tricks whereas Card College has much more detail and insight to all of the moves. Furthermore, it also talks about the psychology behind a lot of the sleights and tricks, more so than RRTCM.
The tricks in volume 2 are much better than those in volume 1 (which still were pretty good). There is also an entire chapter of over 80 pages in this volume on theory. Very interesting stuff from misdirection to audience management to dealing with mistakes, etc. This chapter alone is worth the price of the book. Roberto Giobbi is a true nerd of card magic and that's a really good thing! With everything that he talks about in that chapter, he also gives you recommended books to check out if you would like to go into more detail on what he's talking about.
If you're a seasoned card magician, I'd still recommend getting this book as it can be a great refference. You might even find something you didn't know such as a subtlety on a sleight or shuffle you never thought about before.
