Similar to the Face Up version, however in my opinion, this version is slightly better. The main reason is because the face up version requires you to always use the same "random" card every time you perform (the card you "randomly" pick must match the card of the gimmick). Sure the card the spectator choses and signs is different, but if you're performing the trick at a cocktail party and one spectator decides to follow you around, he/she will notice the same "random" card.
However, this version where the back of the card is shown, you don't have to worry about that at all. It's also a little easier inventing your own trick/routine with the face down gimmick. I highly recommend this.
