The performer hands the spectator a regular looking office pen and is invited to examine it. The performer then displays a small drinking glass and asks the spectator to examine it also. The performer places the pen across the top of the glass. The spectator is then asked to focus their eyes on the pen and to visualize the pen moving. Suddenly, defying the laws of gravity, the pen rotates onto the pen clip! The spectator is asked to concentrate even harder, and after a brief pause, the pen turns sideways, like the second hand of a clock, until it falls off of the glass and onto the table!
