Effect

A short piece of rope is shown in the magician’s left hand. It grows an extra end, then another, finally ending up with 4 ends, with only one middle loop. "How can that be?" asks the magician. "I have only one rope!". The magician pulls on the rope and then shows it is just one long rope.
